What is BDG™ technology?
BDG® technology is integrated into the manufacturing process without affecting the glove’s quality, strength, or performance. It consists of an organic additive designed to accelerate the biodegradation of nitrile in biologically active anaerobic environments, such as industrial digesters or sanitary landfills with microbial activity.
How does BDG™ work?
IVQIN GLOVES.® BDG™ acts as a specific carbon source that attracts and stimulates the activity of microorganisms present in these environments. These microbes release enzymes that initiate depolymerization of the polymer, facilitating its subsequent natural degradation. [Figure 1]
Technical support for biodegradability
The difference with IVQIN GLOVES.® biodegradable technology nitrile gloves lies in their ability to decompose more rapidly than conventional gloves under specific anaerobic conditions similar to those found in industrial digesters.
According to testing conducted in accordance with ASTM International ASTM D5511, 81% biodegradation was observed over 490 days. These results do not imply that the product will biodegrade within that timeframe in actual landfills or other natural environments.
Glove properties
IVQIN GLOVES.® BDG™ do not biodegrade prior to disposal. The unique formulation only allows the biodegradation process to commence when surrounded by microbes present in a landfill environment.
Tested safe for food contact
IVQIN GLOVES™ BDG™ gloves are safe for handling food in accordance with the FDA of the United States, Japan’s food sanitation regulations, European Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011, (EC) 1935/2004, and the German BfR XXI Recommendation.
